About James

James Hoffman serves as Operations Manager at Vero Beach Regional Airport, where he draws on more than a decade of experience in airport management, air traffic control, regulatory compliance, safety, security, training, and organizational leadership. Mr. Hoffman began his career with the airport in 2015 as an administrative assistant and progressed through the organization to become the airport's operations manager. During his initial tenure, he administered programs supporting FAA Part 139 and TSA Part 1542 compliance, oversaw many of the airport's operational/administrative processes, and served as primary representative to federal, state, and local agencies. Among his significant contributions was developing the Airport Security Program, which supported the return of commercial airline service to Vero Beach after nearly two decades of absence.

Seeking to further expand his aviation experience, Mr. Hoffman joined the Federal Aviation Administration in 2018 as an Air Traffic Control Specialist. During his FAA career, he worked in both control tower and terminal radar approach control facilities, serving as a controller-in-charge and an on-the-job training instructor. He also held several professional leadership and safety representative roles, gaining extensive experience supervising personnel, managing complex operations, responding to emergencies, and maintaining compliance with federal aviation regulations.

Mr. Hoffman returned to Vero Beach Regional Airport in 2024 and later advanced to Operations Manager. In his current role, he oversees and coordinates activities essential to maintaining a safe, secure, efficient, and regulatory-compliant airport environment. His experience on both the airport management and air traffic control sides of the aviation industry provides a broad operational perspective and an understanding of the coordination necessary between airport operators, air traffic control, tenants, regulators, and the traveling public.
